  i am in a situation where my ex-wife left me.

  i had survellaince done on her place by two members of my family.

  this was done over a several month time frame.

  Scrubmaster,

  Just be very careful. After my divorce, my ex-hubby and the elders were parking their cars near my house where they could see when I came and when I left...and who came and left. I felt harassed and stalked!! It finally stopped after I threatened them with legal action. If your Ex get wind of your spying, she may seek legal action for invasion of privacy, harassment, or stalking. Be careful.....

  What Depresses You About Jehovah's Witnesses?

  many persons express why they are angry toward the jw religion but what gets you depressed, just thinking about it, regarding the witnesses?

  I feel sad for my two younger brothers, who are like slaves for WT Society! They are both very intelligent, but they work minimal jobs just so they have to time to preach and give their talks or meet their responsibilities in the congregation. One of them has even developed shingles because of the stress he's in. I see all the stress taking a toll on them physically because they are not all they think they should be according to WT's standards. It's very sad to see them wasting their young lives in something so worthless and unrewarding.....while waiting for "the end to come".

  Beards, can someone explain?

  can someone give me a sensible explaination as to why the jw's have banned beards?

  i was df'd in '90 just as this was becoming a big deal and at the time i thought it was completely rediculous what with jesus probably having a beard.

  it was one of the many things that led me to seeing that the gb make arbitrary rules and that the organisation has more to do with control than religion.

  One elder in my hall sported a very nice beard, but he told everybody he couldn't shave it off because of medical reasons......I never quite understood what medical reason could there be for not allowing a man to shave. I think he was just making something up just so he could keep his beard.

  We all have "the truth". It's our spirituality, and it's inside all of us. Some of us have tapped into it a little deeper than others. Sprituality (truth) is different from being religious. I don't consider myself religious at all. And, I don't feel a need to search for anything, because I know truth is already in me. We are forever learning about truth just by our experiences and relationships in our lives. When we strive to learn more about who we really are, our core self, we are searching for truth and we do eventually find it by looking deeply into who we are and by listening to ourselves within own quietness.

  XMAS PARTY-ZERO GUILT

  just want to let you all know i went to the company christmas party last night -- crabs legs appetizer, salad, prime rib (cooked rare), strawberry cheese cake washed down with bourbon and a jack phelps californian red --- but the best bit of all -- -it felt good and i had zero guilt - and did not bump into and jws so i am not going to get dfd just yet!

  I would go to my company's X-mas parties even when I was a JW. I would justify it as being a "employee recognition" party and made sure I didn't tell anyone from my congregation .....and I had no guilt. I sure had fun!!
